We
will soon be able to offer a home for those women who have no family
resources or place to call home (homeless) with a unique maternity home.
We are currently
seeking financial assistance to remodel this 3,200 square foot convent
(pictured above) . This
home will allow us the opportunity to tend to their housing needs and
nurturing while establishing a safe haven where they can move ahead
with their lives while giving them hope for a future that will take
them out of a cycle of poverty. Will provide women with a peaceful, secure setting while helping her to process her needs, her emotions, her choices .
Avails women with access to
educational,, medical, and professional resources and to move ahead
with her life making positive choices. We do not receive government funding or funding from any Catholic diocese, or social service agency.

Foundress of the Gray Nuns of Montreal,
forerunners of the Gray Nuns of the Cross (now Sisters of Charity of
Ottowa) for whom the convent we are remodeling was built. First native born French Canadian
(Quebec) saint . Beatified in 1959 by Pope John XXIII and canonized in
1990 by Pope John Paul II. Through the Gray Nuns who taught in
Gueydan, Abbeville, Church Point, Erath, Kaplan, and Lafayette, St.
Marguerite has strong ties to south Louisiana and its French heritage. Outreach Programs
